# Insolvency register

> Find out whether bankruptcy or restructuring proceedings are under way against a company. The Slovak insolvency register by company ID through a REST API.

The insolvency register records bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings. It is the gravest legal signal you can get about a company – it means the entity either cannot meet its obligations or is attempting to resolve that through the courts.

## What the register contains
- Type of proceedings – bankruptcy, restructuring, debt discharge
- Current state of the proceedings
- Date they began and, where applicable, concluded
- The competent court and file reference
- The trustee, where one has been appointed

## Fields we return

## How often we update

Daily. Insolvency is an event where delay is expensive, so it belongs among the sources we refresh with the highest priority.

## What it is used for

Halting supply when bankruptcy proceedings open is typically an automated rule. The insolvency.updated webhook notifies you when the change happens, without you having to poll the register.

When filing a claim in bankruptcy, the file reference and the court are the details your submission needs.

## Frequently asked questions

### Does restructuring mean the same as bankruptcy?

No. Restructuring is an attempt to rescue a company that continues to trade. Bankruptcy leads to the liquidation of assets. Both are serious, but the consequences for you differ.

### Do I see concluded proceedings too?

Yes. Past proceedings remain relevant after they end, so we keep the record together with the date it concluded.
