# Register of Public Sector Partners

> Beneficial owners and registration in the Slovak Register of Public Sector Partners by company ID through a REST API.

The RPVS records entities that do business with the state and, above all, their beneficial owners – the natural persons who actually profit from the business. Without registration an entity cannot trade with the state above the statutory limit.

## What the register contains
- Flag indicating whether the entity is registered
- Beneficial owners – names and dates of birth
- The authorised person who verified the entry
- Date of registration and, where applicable, deletion

## Fields we return

| Field | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `is_public_sector_partner` | Whether the entity holds a valid RPVS registration. |
| `registrations` | Array of the entity registrations in the register. |
| `business_name` | Business name as recorded in RPVS. |
| `person_type` | Type of person in the registration. |
| `valid_from` | Date from which the registration is valid. |
| `beneficial_owners` | Array of ultimate beneficial owners for that registration. |

## How to request the data

```http
GET /v1/company/ico/51636549?scope=rpvs
{
  "rpvs": {
    "is_public_sector_partner": true,
    "registrations": [
      {
        "business_name": "...",
        "valid_from": "2024-03-11",
        "beneficial_owners": [ { "name": "..." } ]
      }
    ]
  }
}
```

## How often we update

Weekly for the bulk import, plus on-demand top-ups within a daily request budget. RPVS is a slow, rate-limited source, so we prioritise the entities you actually query.

## What it is used for

Beneficial ownership screening is part of anti-money-laundering obligations. The RPVS is the only public Slovak source that names these individuals.

If you are the contracting party, the counterparty's RPVS registration is a condition you must verify before concluding a contract above the statutory limit.

## Frequently asked questions

### Must every company be in the RPVS?

No. Only those receiving performance from public funds above the statutory limit. An ordinary company with no state contracts need not be registered.

### Are beneficial owners the same as shareholders?

Not necessarily. A shareholder may be another company; a beneficial owner is always a natural person at the end of the ownership chain.
